On May 15 and 16, 2024, the Norwegian Centre for Transport Research, organised in Oslo, Norway, two fruitful days of AMIGOS meetings. It marked a significant milestone for the project, bringing together city representatives, technical experts, and researchers to collaborate on advancing urban mobility solutions. The two-day event was packed with presentations, workshops, and discussions aimed at sharing progress and fostering collaboration.

Day 1 Highlights

The first day began with city presentations, where each city shared their progress and experiences over the past 12 months, including challenges faced and the support needed moving forward. This session set the stage for a day filled with insightful updates and interactive workshops.

Key sessions included:

  • WP1 Insights by TØI: The Norwegian Centre for Transport Research provided a preliminary analysis and insights from stakeholder engagement activities conducted during months 1 to 12. They also presented an informative session on data collection and analysis, highlighting the innovative Fotefar app.
  • Challenge Clinique by CambiaMO: This session focused on identifying and discussing challenges related to stakeholder engagement and recruitment. Participants worked collaboratively to find solutions to these challenges.
  • Mobility Observation Box Insights by AIT: AIT shared valuable insights from the Mobility Observation Box, showcasing its role in enhancing urban mobility data collection and analysis.
  • Co-Creation Workshop by LUT: Participants engaged in a simulated scenario to apply co-creation methodologies, facilitated by LUT. This hands-on workshop emphasized the importance of collaborative design in developing effective urban mobility solutions.

Day 2 Highlights

The second day of the meeting focused on sharing progress updates and preparing for the replication of project results in twin cities.

Key sessions included:

  • Work Package Updates: Short updates on the advancements in various work packages were presented, including Project Management, Data Management, Ethics (WP7), Communication, Dissemination, and Exploitation (WP6), Impact Assessment (WP4), and Co-design and Development of Innovative Solutions (WP2).
  • City Models & Digital Twins Presentation: A detailed presentation and discussion on comprehensive city models and digital twins highlighted their potential in improving urban planning and management.
  • Preparatory Workshop for Knowledge Sharing: This workshop focused on preparing twin cities for the replication of the project’s results, ensuring that knowledge and best practices are effectively shared.
  • AMIGOS Parcours – World Café Sessions: These interactive sessions addressed solution identification, implementation strategies, and the development of an impact assessment framework. Participants engaged in dynamic discussions, aiming to eliminate uncertainties and foster collaborative problem-solving.

The meeting was punctuated by more informal exchanges between the partners, and practical examples of soft mobility around Oslo.

Partners will be gathered again next year in Las Rozas (Spain).
