Who are we?

The Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg is with 1.9 million inhabitants the second largest city in Germany, situated in the north of the country along the Elbe River. Three out of nine major European transport arteries – the TEN-T corridors – intersect in Hamburg. Around 40,000 trucks drive into the Port of Hamburg every day, and more than ten percent of all rail freight journeys in Germany start or finish there. Each day, around 500,000 people commute to and from Hamburg.

MUNICIPALITY OF GABROVO (GABR) - Bulgaria
Who are we?

Gabrovo Municipality is a local authority managing the territory of Gabrovo municipality, which is mid-sized Bulgarian municipality with a population of around 60 000 citizens. Gabrovo city is the administrative center of Gabrovo municipality with 134 settlements, located in North Central region of Bulgaria. Gabrovo is a EU Mission City which has a goal to become a “Carbon Neutral and Smart City” by 2030, and one of the leading Bulgarian municipalities in development and implementation of innovative policies for sustainable energy and climate, and sustainable urban mobility. Gabrovo has a geo-strategic transport location in Bulgaria regarding transport corridors. This is one of the most industrialized areas of the country with a high traffic from and to the center of the city.

LAPPEENRANNAN KAUPUNKI (LAPP) - Finland
Who are we?

Lappeenrannan Kaupunki is a vivid mid-sized university city in Southeastern Finland. A green Lappeenranta is a key goal in the city strategy in terms of both residential comfort and industrial policy.  Actions are based on resource wisdom and carbon neutrality. The city is pioneering sustainable solutions, and participates actively in climate change mitigation, improving circular economy and restoring waterbodies. REYKJAVIKURBORG (REYK) - Iceland
Who are we?

The City of Reykjavík is the northernmost capital in the world with ca. 144,000 inhabitants. Key mobility development programmes include 15-minute neighbourhoods, a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line, multi-modal transport and mobility hubs, a redesign of town squares (in poor use) for multi-purpose uses and community feel, and the extension of pedestrian zones. Tourism is very prominent in the city centre, with high density of bars/cafés/restaurants, galleries, museums, design centres, theatres and music halls, ground floor shopping and pedestrian zones. Reykjavik is a EU Mission City which has a goal to become a “Carbon Neutral and Smart City” by 2030.

EIP is an SME consultancy company based in Romania, providing consulting services for city authorities, operators, and the private sector. EIP developed new engagement instruments following the thorough understanding of cities’ capacity to engage with local stakeholders to develop sustainable policies.
