On 9 and 10 September 2026, the AMIGOS consortium gathered in Vienna for two days of presentations, workshops and strategic discussions. Partners reviewed the progress made across the project and coordinated the activities to be completed during its final phase.

A central part of the meeting was dedicated to the experiences of the AMIGOS Living Labs and Safety Improvement Areas. City representatives presented the measures implemented locally, the results achieved and the main challenges encountered.

The discussions highlighted a wide variety of solutions, including safer school environments, new cycling and pedestrian infrastructure, multimodal mobility hubs, traffic signal optimisation and measures improving road safety and accessibility.

Cities also reflected on their key lessons. Co-creation was widely recognised as a valuable way to understand local needs and build support for new measures. Partners also highlighted recurring challenges such as administrative procedures, stakeholder engagement, coordination between public authorities and access to implementation funding.

Partners reviewed the latest developments of the AMIGOS Digital Twins and discussed how the project’s different data sources can support impact assessment. A dedicated workshop also focused on turning the experience gained in the pilot cities into practical and transferable resources for other European cities.

The meeting concluded with preparations for the final months of AMIGOS, including upcoming deliverables, replication activities, communication actions and the project’s final event.
