5 Twin Cities in 4 countries

Twin Cities are follower cities in AMIGOS that do not test solutions from scratch but replicate and adapt one or more innovations that have already been validated in the Living Labs and Safety Improvement Areas.

This replication approach allows the project to demonstrate the scalability and transferability of active mobility solutions across Europe, including in cities with different demographics, mobility cultures, and governance structures.

Twin Cities participate in knowledge-exchange workshops, capacity-building exercises, and comparative assessments to ensure that solutions are effectively adapted to their local context.

Their early results contribute to the project’s overall evaluation of which measures are widely replicable, sustainable, and impactful.

What Twin Cities Do

    • Learn from Living Labs and SIAs through structured knowledge sharing
    • Adapt mobility solutions to local needs, constraints, and objectives
    • Test the feasibility and impact of replicating active and safe mobility measures
    • Contribute evidence to the AMIGOS replication framework
    • Build long-term capacity for sustainable mobility governance
